Call for 1980s Nurses’ Dresses
We are looking for Nurses’ dresses from the 1980s of a sister, staff or charge nurse, plus hats. These items would be on a short-term loan basis to be used at the Westminster Abbey Service on 12th May 2020 as part of the Bi-centenary celebrations. Would you kindly let us know if you can help please – we would be most grateful and look forward to hearing from you! Please get in touch with Gillian Prager at [email protected]
Party Invitation to celebrate the 200th Birthday of Florence Nightingale on or around May 2020
To: All Nightingales & Nurses who trained at the former St Thomas’ group of hospitals
You are warmly invited to celebrate Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday
When – sometime around May 12th or anytime during 2020 to suit you
Where – in your area; you will read of major events taking place all over the world – and you can be part of it all
How – do I host or find out about a party in my area? Contact: [email protected] or 07779 347 969
If you would be kind enough to start the ball rolling and arrange a Tea party – thanks to the new Data Protection Law, you don’t have to do very much! We cannot pass your fellow Nightingales’ addresses directly on to you, so we will do all the initial work for you.
Please contact me and I will send you an Invitation template. You complete it and send it to Mia or Angela at the Fellowship’s office, indicating the postcodes nearby that you would like to be used – they will then print the Invitations and post them for you.
Only then do you take over by receiving the responses and setting up the get-together. You do not have to be the host yourself and I will guide you on this. You will not have to do all the work – you know what Nightingales are like, everyone will help!
- We are really keen to welcome those who may not have been involved before.
- We would love to create new networks for those who may be feeling lonely. This is an opportunity to encourage Fellowship membership, so that Nightingales can benefit from the educational funds to support further study and/or benevolent funds in times of need.
- Please feel free to invite any local nurses to join in your celebration.
